18 October 2021 (Mombasa, Kenya): The IGAD FSI conducted a four-days training on Developing a Resource Mobilization Strategy for its staff.
The objective of this workshop was to build the skills and knowledge of the IGAD FSI team in resource mobilization and to enable them to create a practical and solid resource mobilization plan. They also developed a comprehensive approach to resource mobilization to fund the future operation and activities of the Institute.
On his opening remarks, Amb. Moussa Ali Meigague, IGAD FSI Director introduced the workshop and recalled the objectives of the workshop. He concluded by appreciating the Eu funding support through the Austrian Development Agency.
Using interactive exercises, group discussions and examples from organization, the facilitator drew upon participants’ own experience, knowledges and ideas to identify potential donors, networks, tools and strategies they need to develop and implement a successful resource mobilization strategy.
At the end of the workshop, the consultant identified the most appropriate management model for the Institute in the long term and also developed a resource mobilization strategy that will help the Institute to fund its future activities.
The training was conducted with financial support from the European Union through European Union Trust Fund (EUTF) through the Austrian Development Agency (ADA) under the IPPSHAR Program.
